|  | Well Child Program
We are strong believers in preventative medicine. We would like to see our older children on a yearly basis for checkups and babies more often. Our routine checkup schedule follows: 3 Days, 2 Weeks, 2 Months, 4 Months, 6 Months, 9 Months, 1 Year, 15 Months, 18 Months and then yearly. The following immunizations are given at various times:
DTAP = Diptheria, Tetanus, Acellular Pertussis Vaccine
HIB = Hemophilus B Vaccine
IPV = Injectable Polio Vaccine
MMR = Measles, Mumps and Rubella Vaccine
Hep A = Hepatitis A Vaccine
Hep B = Hepatitis B Vaccine
HPV = Human Papillomavirus Vaccine
PCV = Pneumococcal Vaccine
MCV = Meningococcal Vaccine
Our immunization schedule has been carefully, with much thought, planned to coincide with our schedule of well child checkups. We have worked hard to follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC's Committee on Immunization Practices yet maintain a schedule, using various combination products, which does not yield too many "pokes" per visit.
During the last two decades, we have seen infectious diseases that once posed a serious threat to the health of our patients become less and less prevalent. However, these infections have not been eradicated - we have learned to prevent them. Immunizations work.
We participate in the federal Vaccines for Children program which provides immunizations to underinsured children for only an administration fee. We also have vaccines we purchase privately. So we know which supply to use, before your appointment, please check with your insurer to see if your vaccines are paid for by your plan.
